Global Virtual Reunion - GVR 2025

Global Virtual Reunion, Sept 13-14

The 2025 Global Virtual Reunion (GVR), Sept 13-14, 2025, is simplified because we meet monthly (Forums). GVR-2025 will still be a mix of information, stories, laughs, memories, sharing, and worship. There is a variety of sessions -- and we hope that will encourage you to join one or all sessions, as you are able!

NEXT MONTH Sept 13-14 (AUST/NZ Sept 14-15)

Doorway Illustration

This doorway is in an alleyway in Lahore's Old City. The doorway is a connector to what's beyond -- a hope of hospitality, feeling of home, friends sharing, common bonds, and tribe gathered. We hope that those reasons will encourage you to join us. It is a virtual reunion, so we can even imagine that we will meet behind this doorway in Lahore's Old City.

Welcome!

We hope many will attend the GVR -- one session or all sessions! The Zoom links will be provided for each session. Are you also interested in participating in some way -- perhaps as a Host or Discussant? Please get in touch with me:

Questions? Ideas?

VISIT GROUP #1 (Hosted)

THE PAKISTAN WE BARELY KNEW (FORUM)

THE PAKISTAN WE BARELY KNEW (FORUM)

SEPT 13, 8:00-9:00 AM EDT (CANADA/USA)

*See Time Zones below and Timeanddate.org

Visit Group 1 will be hosted by Deb Rupe and others. The broad theme: Who is educating the children of the expats who are working in Pakistan? Are there volunteer opportunities? What is happening to MCS? Catch-up with Deb and with Eunice Hill and with each other and share memories and ask questions.

P.S. What is MSC's first principal's second daughter doing in a room filled with

MCS library books?

THE PAKISTAN WE BARELY KNEW (FORUM)

SEPT 13, 1:00-2:00 PM EDT (CANADA/USA)

*See Time Zones below and Timeanddate.org

This is our regular monthly Forum and will feature an informative and perhaps provocative topic, "The Pakistan we barely knew." Jason Philbrick will briefly examine folk practices in Pakistan. You are almost guaranteed to learn something new about the people and country of Pakistan, a place we once called or still call "home."

There will be time for discussion.

PAKISTAN PILGRIMAGES

THE PAKISTAN WE BARELY KNEW (FORUM)

VISIT GROUP #2 (Hosted)

SEPT 13, 3:15-4:30 PM EDT (CANADA/USA)

*See Time Zones below and Timeanddate.org

This fun and interactive session will feature David Addleton and others sharing their recent return trips to Pakistan. David and his wife visited Pakistan from top to bottom -- from the Chinese border and Northern Areas TO Karachi and the Indian Ocean. Each participant (pilgrim) had a different reason for making their pilgrimage-like-trip. There will be time for questions. Perhaps others will be inspired to visit Pakistan.

*See Time Zones below and Timeanddate.org

Visit Group 2 will be hosted by Marilyn Brown Gardner and others. The broad theme: Whether you grew up in Pakistan or worked there as an adult, what do you think it is that connects you to the place and to the tribe of expats who lived there? What memories and stories are significant for you?

P.S. What drew a bunch of MCS classmates to reunite in Pakistan 50 years later?

SUNDAY GATHERING

VISIT GROUP #2 (Hosted)

SUNDAY GATHERING

SEPT 14, 2:00-3:00 PM EDT (CANADA/USA)

*See Time Zones below and Timeanddate.org

Pakistan MK Peter McMillan preached on the "Armor of God," in the former MCS chapel, for the Sunday Service during our April visit to Murree. We will share the recording on Zoom (to view together) and/or send a link* so you can view it on your own. It includes the sermon/Peter, scripture reading/Joel DeHart, and benediction/Graham Duncan.

Gather for service, scroll memorials, visit.
